Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 2026
Short version. We use a small number of cookies that are strictly necessary to sign you in and keep you signed in. We do not run advertising cookies, Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracking used to profile you or build an audience. Because everything we use is either essential or something you actively initiated (like opening our live chat), we do not show a cookie banner.
If you have questions about any of this, email privacy@storyseeds.org.uk.
What is a cookie
A cookie is a tiny text file a website saves in your browser. Most sites use them so you do not have to log in every time you click a link, or to remember what you were doing. Some sites also use them to follow you around the internet and show you ads. We do not do that.
The cookies we set
session-tokenStrictly necessaryKeeps you signed in to Daily Adventure.
Set when you log in. HttpOnly and Secure, which means it cannot be read by scripts running in your browser. Expires after 30 days, or when you sign out.
oauth-stateStrictly necessaryProtects the sign-in handshake with Yoto from tampering (CSRF).
Set for about 10 minutes while you are moving through the Yoto sign-in screen, then deleted automatically once sign-in finishes.
trmnl_oauth_stateStrictly necessary (optional feature)Same idea as oauth-state but for the optional TRMNL e-ink display integration.
Only set if you are connecting a TRMNL device. Expires after 15 minutes.
admin-tokenStrictly necessary (admins only)Keeps Daily Adventure staff signed in to the admin panel.
Only set for our internal team. Regular users never receive this cookie.
capacity_test_modeStrictly necessary (admins only)Internal testing flag for our signup capacity logic.
Only set for our internal team. Regular users never receive this cookie.
Cookies set by the live chat
If you open the live chat in the corner of the site, our support provider Crisp sets a small number of cookies so your conversation stays connected between pages and comes back next time you visit with a question. If you never open the chat, Crisp does not set anything.
You can read Crisp's own cookie details at crisp.chat/privacy.
What about analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand roughly how many people visit and which pages they use. Vercel Analytics is cookie free. It counts page views without storing anything on your device and without identifying you personally.
What we do not use
- No Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager.
- No Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any other social ad tracker.
- No advertising cookies of any kind.
- No session replay tools that record what you do on the page.
- No cross site tracking.
Why we do not show a cookie banner
UK and EU rules require a consent banner when a site uses cookies that are not strictly necessary, for example advertising and tracking cookies. We do not use any of those. The cookies we do set are either essential for signing you in, or set by a service you actively opened (the live chat). Nothing you see on Daily Adventure is behind a cookie wall, and nothing about you is sold on.
Turning cookies off
You can clear cookies or block them in your browser settings. If you block the essential cookies above, you will not be able to stay signed in to Daily Adventure. Every modern browser has a help page on how to manage cookies.
Changes
If we ever start using a new cookie, we will update the list above and bump the “Last updated” date. If the change is material (for example if we ever added analytics that did use cookies) we would tell active users by email.
